What impressed me most when I first visited the office of Mr. Saffet Bozkurt in January 2008 following my appointment as Manager of Yapı Kredi Bank Fındıklı Branch, were the many Certificates of Appreciation awarded to him as a taxpayer, hanging on his wall. This reminded me of the famous words of the late Vehbi Koç, founder of the Koç Group, “I exist as long as my country exists”. Businessmen who are founders of successful companies have certain common characteristics even if their area of operation and scale of business may vary. The most significant of these are doing the business they know best, growing consistently and looking out for the welfare of their country. I believe that these are the most significant factors underlying the success of Mr. Saffet Bozkurt. Mr. Bozkurt who also adopts this approach in his relations with our bank, always takes care to fulfill his business commitments and in this manner has shown how important “reputation” is for all shareholders for the continuity and stable growth of an institution.
